EA says it is not afraid of 2K launching FIFA to compete with the FC series
EA Sports is unafraid of the upcoming competition in the football game market, and they are confident that their FIFA 25 will withstand the test.
David Wilsdorf, vice president of marketing at EA Sports, said they welcome the competition from FIFA 2K and look forward to seeing how rivals approach the sport. He also pointed out that making a football game is very difficult and he was curious how the FIFA 2K team would challenge them.
Constantinescu, chief game designer for FIFA 25 Career Mode, added that he wasn't worried about competition before, but is now excited by the emergence of FIFA 2K. He said it will force the EA Sports team to take it to the next level and do better with the game content.
Wilsdorf further said that competition can motivate everyone to play their best, but that doesn't make EA Sports worried about the potential impact of FIFA 2K. "We're not worried because we're sure how good our game is," he said confidently.
As of now, FIFA 2K has not released any details, and negotiations between its parent company Take-Two and FIFA are still ongoing. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said they will make more announcements in due course.
